This beautiful family home was designed by Lutz Architects according to the principles of feng shui. Overlooking Lake Geneva in Switzerland, the house is situated in a mountainous setting at the foot of the Vaud Jura, allowing it to stand out against the green of the surrounding landscape. The SunStyle solar tiles are in perfect harmony with the dark woodwork of the building, contributing to a consistent aesthetic while producing clean energy. With its integrated solar roof, the home produces 300% of its annual electricity needs.

Beyond its perfect integration into this beautiful landscape, the house has been designed from the start as an energy efficient building. The aim of this type of project is to include sustainable functions and features: to manufacture from responsible and recyclable resources, to favour energy and water saving, to reduce the production of waste… At every stage, the architect must aim for a smaller environmental and social footprint.

Buildings account for 20% of the world’s emissions of greenhouse gases (data calculated by the IPCC). A “clean energy” house consumes little thanks to its optimised insulation and produces energy thanks to the implementation of solutions based on renewable energies, such as the SunStyle solar roof.

In Switzerland, the Minergie-P label, intended for new buildings or buildings undergoing renovation, imposes quality standards in terms of a low-waste envelope. In particular, the building must be extremely well insulated to ensure thermal comfort, air renewal, heat recovery and, of course, energy performance. Sun exposure, the arrangement of windows and excellent air tightness are decisive criteria for obtaining the Minergie-P label. SunStyle solar roof tiles meet these requirements perfectly.
